Nobody Here But Us Chickens

Chad went on a little trip over the long weekend (Thurs and Fri were school holidays here in Utah for you Outlanders). He left after lunch on Thursday and didn't come back until Sunday night. Not only were we jealous that he got to meet Baby Ada and we didn't, but we had a drought of playdates. Just Mommy and the kids, eyeball to eyeball for four days and three nights.

Strangely enough, we kept ourselves insanely busy. Thursday we visited the aviary and ordered pizza for dinner. Friday we went grocery shopping and after naps visited the consignment store. We played volleyball in the backyard until we lost the ball over the fence . . . We rented WALL*E for an evening treat. On Saturday we went to the library, bookstore, and CostCo. Sunday we went to church and decorated the house for Halloween. To celebrate our successful weekend we went out to IHOP for dinner.

Not that we didn't have our challenging moments, as we surely did. Not that I didn't feel a little insane when James called from the bathroom for potty help at the same moment that Baby May projectile spit-up squash all over the carpet. And one of the nights nobody slept ever. But we really pulled through beautifully and I have a greater appreciation for moms who are on their own 24/7 on a regular basis.

We are so happy to have our Daddy back with us tonight.

Hooray for Krissy! You are an amazing mom! Tell Chad you're going away next weekend to come play with me. =)
