Silver Lake or Bust

James and his friend Phin recently went on a little mountain excursion around Silver Lake in one of the nearby canyons. The boys had a lot of fun together. Here they are racing off down the boardwalk.

It really is hard to find the perfect stick.

Both boys were fairly adept at scrambling.

James found a stump, and a branch . . .

. . . and a big flap of bark.

It was fun to take the boys to a place where they could "just be kids" - dig around in the dirt, poke sticks at things, be rowdy and adorable all at once.
