Party Prep
For May's fourth birthday she wanted to host her first "friend" party. She invited three friends. One from her temporary class at the JCC during my sub work, and two from the school she's been attending all year. She and I sat down and very seriously contemplated what activities and food we would have. She fully participated in all stages of planning and preparation. Above she is coloring in the Ariel for "Pin the Tail on Ariel." See those green squares of construction paper? Those are the tails she made for the game.
And here's May filling our homemade pinata with candy. It's a lot of candy. You can tell from her face.
Then we sealed over the hole and put colored tissue paper over the outside. May was all about it.
And here's May later in the day helping to bake her cake (you can tell it's later in the day because the girl finally changed out of her pajamas.) She decided on a strawberry-lemonade cake and frosting, so we chose to color the layers pink and yellow.
