We are so fortunate to live within a few blocks of First Encampment Park. Unlike the other parks we visit, full of ducks and playgrounds, this one is full of engraved rocks and miniature canyons. The park is dedicated to the pioneers who first entered the Salt Lake Valley and made their camp, well, here. My kids love to follow the dry rivers and climb up the boulder mountains.
