A Walk in the Park

Thursdays the kids are all mine, with no school, story time or playdate obligations to break up our time together. Sometimes that presents a real challenge, but other times we manage to make the most of it. A couple of Thursdays ago we decided to really explore a park we seldom visit. First, the kids played on the swings. (May fell off, but soon stopped crying and got right back on.)
After exhausting the playground, James found this tree with stepping stones on either side.
Then he found a cute little group of mushrooms which he spent a few minutes admiring.
Despite the damp conditions, James decided to try rolling around in the grass.
May followed suit . . .
. . . but was less tolerant of the moisture in the grass.
James decided to run a few laps to dry off.
And of course, May did the same.
After lunch, we hit up one of our favorite lunch spots.
What a great day!
