At the beginning of her pony-tail days, May would sit sweetly for as long as it took to get her coiffed. Then she would admire herself in the mirror before heading out into the world. A few months ago, May's love-affair with "ponies" ended, and she insisted on wearing her hair "long" unless it was a school day. This resulted in a lot of frustration over windy days and a lot of sticky messes in her hair after meals. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I introduced her to some new styles: a "stem" (the front half of her hair up in a bun) and a "snake pony" (seen above and below). She has once again become excited about having her hair done. But what kind of crazy styles can I come up with next when she inevitably becomes bored with this? Help me, moms with older girls!
