The kids and I decided to hit up DI to try and find some piece of technology that we could deconstruct and explore. We found a ?subwoofer?
First we removed every screw that we could find.
Then we took it outside to smash the wood casing apart (it was glued together). I think this was by far the kids' favorite part.
Don't worry, we wore our safety goggles.
The inside was remarkably empty
But we gathered up the pieces and brought them back inside to see what we could see.
We found a small circuit board. Oooh!
And . . . some mold. Ewww.
All in all it was a lot of fun and something we will definitely be doing again!
